The greatest mistake that the US is making is to assume that it controls the world. As a result it (the US) is now viewed as a big bully afraid of small nations.

The issue of nuclear weapons should rather be lectured and spearheaded by the UN and not the US. Considering that the US is the largest stock holder of nukes and is the only country in human history to have used nukes to annihilate people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This in a nutshell leaves a lot to be desired.

If the nuclear issue is discussed openly and nations with capabilities of enrichment are allowed to  advance responsibly, the world will be a safer place.

There is need also to look at the brighter side of the nuclear advancement in terms of energy and fuel rather than war and bombs. The main, reasons it seems, the US is so concerned is because the US is a "war monger" and whenever the word nuclear comes on the table the first thing that comes to mind are bombs.

The major issue here is to make the US understand that it is not bigger than the world and hence every nation enjoys equal opportunity to develop and use nuclear energy just like oil in the Middle East.

The reason why the world became so afraid of nuclear was because the US created the fear anyway. Nations like North Korea, Iran , India and South Africa ventured into nuclear some with peaceful agendas and other with hidden. The reason why the motives are kept secret is because the US wants to bully the rest of the world. The is no trust when it comes to nuclear technology sharing.

A lot of dangerous nuclear experiments are taking place because of trial and error methods. If the US is so concerned maybe it's time to share the safe nuclear technology with the rest of the world.

When X-rays were discovered they were equally dangerous but with time people learned a safer way of using the technology. I would like to believe if nuclear is given a chance it can also create a better future for human kind

The whole issue of trying to dictate issues to the rest of the world puts the US at risk. A more proactive dialog approach would save the US a lot of PR disasters and restore its status as a pillar of democracy.

Taking note of the recent 62nd UN Summit, it looks like there are more nations ganging against the US and internally the US presidential hopeful are doing more harm to the US than good.

Politicians especially presidential hopefuls should accept that the war in Iraq is a collective responsibility and STOP blaming President Bush for all the ills. The war in Iraq is part of the American dream.

I personally believe that when the decision to topple Saddam was taken it was in the best interest of the US not Bush.

The liberation struggle African leaders are doing more harm to Africa than the good that those who died during the struggle fought for. One noble thing would be to resign. Most of these leaders are fooling the populace telling them that the West wants to recolonise Africa.

I personally feel that there is no sane leader in the West who would come and colonise a nation in Africa in this 21st century. It's a barbaric chapter of history that was long closed. The last remnants of colonialism in South Africa were sustained by self centred Boers who did not even have the blessing of the Western states. Even Smith's  regime (Rhodesia) was not supported by Britain and yet we find in this civilised era, African leaders who still talk about colonialism.

This brings an interesting point on obsession and politics of patronage in Africa.

A once shining example of emerging democracy in Africa 'was' South Africa but this is colapsing fast and very soon things will fall apart. It takes a lot of sacrifice to build an economy and one fool and a bandwagon of patrons to destroy it.

The concept of Black Empowerment Equity is soon going to destroy South Africa and create a new breed of super rich selfish Africans who cannot even spare a cent to help their fellow rural kin in the slums of Soweto. The same rich Africans are buying shares in every company and at the end of the day this does not address the issue of equitable distribution of wealth.

America was right that Socialist and Communist ideas were to be nipped in the bud. In real sense no democracy can exist in a Communist setup.

All communists are hypocrites and they love Capitalism behind the scenes. Most African politicians were educated abroad Europe and America and benefited through Common Wealth grants, yet today they say these nations are devil states that want to recolonise Africa.

The record should be set straight that the Western States and America are actually helping Africa more than the Communist. Many African leaders are not willing to accept change and most importantly peace.

If one looks at the Sudan issue, you realise that is are a group of morons who cannot accept a simple fact of life that human life is more important than any other thing on earth. Why would anyone in all their senses refuse a UN peace keeping mission saying they want the peace keepers to be made up of an all African contingent? This shows that the Sudan leaders clearly know that their African counterparts would support them to stay in power and continue butchering innocent soles.

African leaders are a team and they will always support each other, they have the same goal, to rule forever.

Recently in Zimbabwe some politicians had their children deported from Australia and they were ranting, let us face the real facts here, if Zimbabwe is such a good country, why do politicians send their children to Australia? This proves my point that Communists are hypocrites.

I think Ms. Jenni Williams  did not have her facts right. I watched her interview with BCC Hardtalk host Stephen Suckur and I realised Stehen did not do his usual type of questioning probably after realising that the interviewee was not really newsworthy.

During the interview she was confused and mixed issues, to the extend Stephen suggested she was more political than civic and would better join the opposition. Also her number-work was not all that good. She claimed WOZA's membership to be 50K and along the lines claimed that 150K of WOZA members were arrested.

I personally would not like put much critisism to the work of this organisation but I think the majority of the participants are opposition members whom Ms. Jenni Williams want to claim to be members of WOZA.

Woza is a small community grouping that has received wide publicity through vigorous public relation but lacks membership to be classified as a national grouping. 50K members out of a population of of 12 million Zimbabweans is just a drop in an ocean.

The problem with these mushrooming woman groups is that they are too noisy and lose focus quickly just like the Girl Child Network led by Betty Makoni. At one time Ms. Makoni claimed that she was also on the Central Intelligence (CIO) hit list . It only came to light recently when Ms Makoni and Rebeca Chisamba were picked up by the police for interfering with state witnesses (girls allegedly raped)

I think there is need to get facts right and promote an amicable working environment rather than politicizing issues when ever failure is imminent.

Zimbabweans are now suffering from a new culture of blaming the ruling Zanu PF for all their problems. I believe there are many things that can be done to improve the current situation rather than dwelling on blame.
