Is there anyone out there who has watched this advert on most African channels these days where a girl says " I do not want to end up like those girls who come from the locations"

The sponsors of this advert have missed a point and I think there is need to retrieve this advert with full apology to the majority of woman from the "locations" ( i.e. high density suburbans)

I strongly feel that there is need to avoid sending wrong messages through adverts such as this one This is an insult to the general poor African girls from the high density.

It is grossly stupid for producers of this huge campaign to let such an advert pass through to the masses the world over. In a nut shell the stupid girl also thinks that those girls who grew up in the "locations" (including her mother I strongly want to believe) are so careless and end up getting HIV & AIDS.

 This simply potrays the barbarism and lack of knowledge about AIDS/HIV with some African youths who still view AIDS/HIV as a problem of the poor.

Aids/HIV surely is a fair disease that infects people without discrimination. This disease is the fairest democracy that cuts across the world and respects everyone's sexual and moral opinion.

Whether one is from the slums or the poshest suburbs, the disease ravages all with equal impact.

Let us not equivocate a catastrophe of this magnitude by social stratification, this is a global challenge that can only be tackled if we put our  social differences aside and combine our efforts.

This world can surely be a better place.
